Opening Ceremony

The opening of new STIC offices at two universities, WMSCU and ITS, was done online via Zoom. Following the opening ceremony, an Indonesian seminar on circular economic policy was held.

Outline

The Virtual Grand Opening Ceremony and STIC Seminar are collaborative events involving the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya, and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). The purpose of this event is to introduce the establishment of offices/headquarters as a platform for research collaboration and international collaboration on breakthrough technologies on specific issues. This event will focus on Circular Economy Policy and Implementation: Challenges and Opportunities.

The event began with the screening of the national anthems of Indonesia and the Republic of China (Taiwan), and continued with remarks from Prof. Jia-Yush Yen, President of NTUST; Kuncoro Foe, Ph.D., Chancellor of UKWMS; Prof. Mochamad Ashari, ITS Chancellor; Dr. Mego Pinandito, Main Secretary of the National Research and Innovation Agency; and John C. Chen, ambassador from TETO Jakarta, Indonesia. The virtual grand opening event was concluded by showing the profile video of stic-cegir.

The event was followed by a seminar with several speakers, including Dr. Andriati Cahyaningsih, S.Si., M.Sc., Head of Standardization and Industrial Services Policy, who spoke about the industrial sector's circular economy implementation policy, Liang-Jenq Leu, President of the Taiwan Construction Research Institute, who spoke about circular economy-based collaboration in the construction industry, Heri Purwanto, PT's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager, spoke about the company's waste treatment experiences and challenges.`
